Why this blog?
GrammarOfDev is a collection of my how-to reminders that hopefully can also help you out, wherever you are in the world.
This blog began as a way to document solutions for problems that were either difficult to find solutions to, or were simply useful reminders. It has now helped hundreds of thousands of people, according to analytics (wow!) People often don't visit back since they're here to solve specific problems, but we do get a lot of unique visitors.
The name "Grammar of Dev" was chosen because I had been reading "The Grammar of Graphics" by Leland Wilkinson at the time. Since the word "grammar" implies how-to rules, I thought it was a neat word to use.
I hope you have found at least one of the posts in this blog useful. Thank you for visiting!
Who am I?
I am a friendly, curious entrepreneurial physicist by training who always likes to share a good laugh with good folks.
I am a family man, a community leader, an artist, a public speaker, a teacher, an introvert, a producer of games, apps, and film; and someone who really likes the outdoors. When not doing sports, you can often find me in the middle of some creative endeavour, teaching, or learning from a book or university course for fun.
Life is too short to not be moving forwards and exploring all it has to offer.
It was nice to meet you, kindred spirit somewhere else in the world!
